Having a lovely time in England. Yesterday Allison and I went to Oxford. We parked outside the city and took the bus in. Parking in any British city is at a premium. Hence the legendary Brit love of the bicycle:
I seriously have no idea how they find their own bike at day's end, but it seems to work.
Today Allison and I took the train into London. We met up with E. when she finished some work in town and the three of us explored Covent Garden:
This picture was taken a short while before some snow/rain/sleet made us feel like we'd be better off warm and cozy back at E.'s place. So off we went, having shopped as much as we needed.
Tonight was a lazy night - I made some bruscetta and they watched telly while I did some writing. Shows for the rest of the week, then home Monday ...
I love England - the culture, the politeness of the people, the history, the shopping, everything. And I adore, E., who is the soul of graciousness as a host and very good-natured about the constant teasing ...
More soon ..
There's streaming video of Covent Garden that I found years ago. It was interesting to see darkness when it was afternoon here...and the dawn of morning when I was up at midnight. Can't wait for more pictures.

Dick Van Dyke and Mary Poppins? What a memory....
Hope you're having a bang up time! (or is that the right way to say it...?)

You're much nicer to Emma here than on her site. :-)

Must have been all that duct tape that mellowed you out.
Love the pic of the bikes. Reminds me of when I went to Cambridge years ago. The parking lot of the train station was Bike City!
